Hack the Gibson!
Hack the Gibson! is a text based hacking game designed as a tribute to the movie. At its core it's a puzzle solving and exploration game. You need to solve puzzles to progress through the network while moving quietly enough to avoid detection. You can run some side quests for credits, upgrade your cyberdeck, visit BBSs to find Warez. Some secrets in the game even bring you outside of the game to search and solve puzzles out on the internet. Pay attention to the text being displayed, some of them unlock secrets of which there are many in the game.
BaudQuest: Dial of Fate
BaudQuest: Dial of Fate is a graphical multiplayer realtime game with a large world to explore with other players. This is our first project using a client/server model. Since this is a realtime multiplayer game we have a SQL server running behind the scenes keeping track of all the changing data for players so positional data stays live. This is modeled after an MMO but with scaled down graphics. We have Combat, Boss battles, Spells, Resource gathering, Crafting, Enchantment system, Weapon and armor upgrades, Quests, Overworld Map viewer, Live player chat, Talent trees, Daily spinning of the Dial of Fate for prizes, 1 Dungeon so far (8 Planned), Waypoint travel system, Puzzles to solve and lot of other things to find and interact with in the world.
DOOM
The whole of DOOM runs as a door on the BBS. Connect with TERMinator and it plays in full graphics with sound, drawn by your own computer over the same connection. Other terminals get an ANSI version instead.
Beneath a Steel Sky
Revolution Software's 1994 cyberpunk adventure, playable as a door on the BBS. Connect with TERMinator and point and click your way through Union City with the mouse.
