Dead Modem Society is a bulletin board system we set up as a home for our BBS door game projects. We're focused on BBS games and modern creativity built on old-school foundations. We have no Patreon, we have no PayPal, we don't want your money. We just want you to have a good time.

Running on Rainwire

The board moved off Mystic and now runs on Rainwire, our own BBS software, written from scratch.

• Telnet and SSH. SSH can remember your key so you skip the password, and two-factor login is there if you want it.
• Any terminal. Classic CP437 ANSI in SyncTERM, or full 24-bit color and the mouse in a modern terminal.
• An optional windowed desktop. Movable windows, a taskbar and the rain behind them. Turn it on under Options, Windows.
• Extra in TERMinator. Pictures, animated headers and full-graphics TRACE doors.
• The usual BBS life. Message bases, private mail, file areas, one-liners, and plenty of doors.
